Signs it is time

  • A wet spot, stained ceiling or damp wall you cannot explain
  • A water bill that climbs with no change in use
  • Low pressure, or pressure that bangs the pipes
  • Fixtures that leak and wear out quickly
  • Old pipes that have started to leak in more than one place

Pressure regulator valves

City water pressure can run high. A pressure regulator valve, with a gauge like the one in this photo, brings it down to a level your fixtures and pipes can live with. CR Plumbing installs and replaces them.

How the job goes

  1. Find the leak

Where the water is going, and how much of the line is worn.

  2. Open the wall where the pipe is

The photos below show how the opening is cut to the pipe: the stubs, the drain and the valve.

  3. Repair or repipe

A section or a longer run, with options for your budget.

Good to know

How do I know if my water pressure is too high?

Banging pipes, fixtures that wear out early and relief valves that drip can all point to it. A gauge on the line gives the number.

Can you find a leak that I cannot see?

Wet spots, a rising water bill and low pressure are the usual clues. CR Plumbing looks at where the water is going before opening anything.
